A three-day long ‘2nd National Seminar of Social Artistry Leadership’ ended today amidst a program in Kathmandu. In the seminar, more than 20 papers were presented and the practitioners and learners of Social Artistry from Nepal and other countries gave several speeches. During the seminar, participants shared about their learning as Social Artists. Social Artistry approach has been used in Nepal for the last 22 years through various leadership programs and community development activities. More than 1000 people were trained on it on numerous occasions. UNDP has recognized this approach as one of the significant tools for community and personal transformation. Ms. Janet Sanders has been involved in Social Artistry Initiatives in Nepal since its inception in 2002 and since then she
has facilitated several training jointly with ICA Nepal’s facilitators. In its initial programs, UNDP was a major sponsor. A 20 years resolution has been proposed during the seminar. Participants briefed their vision and committed to the implementation. Participants opined that the seminar was very useful for their future careers as well. Ms. Janet Sanders asked the participants to dream and pursue implementing that in which Social Artistry could be a great help. Ms. Ishu Subba, Executive Chair of the Institute of Cultural Affairs Nepal thanked all the participants for their active participation in the seminar. At the closing
the ceremony, Prof. Tatwa P. Timsina, Mr. Krishna Murari Bhandari, Ms. Pramila Karki, and Mr. Amba Datta Bhatta spoke about the importance of the seminar and future possibilities in the Nepalese context.
