A three day National Seminar on Social Artistry Leadership kicks off today in Kathmandu.
Social Artistry is a leadership approach applied all over the world for the personal and
organisational transformation. In Nepal, for the last 20 years, it has been widely used among
communities and personal level. Various national and international organisations including
UNDP have considered it as one of the major approaches for development.
Ms. Janet Sanders from Canada opened the seminar by lighting on a panas. While talking at the
opening ceremony, she highlighted various aspects of Social Artistry and its contribution to the
social transformation. Prof. Tatwa P. Timsina shared about the 20 years of Social Artistry
initiatives in Nepal. He shared about the role of Social Artistry in develioping competent trainers
and faclitators in Nepal. Mr. Amba Datta Bhatta, Mr. Blase Sands
and Ms. Ishu Subba also
highlighted various aspects of Social Artistry and its relevancy to Nepal.
ICA Nepal has been undertaking Social Artistry as a major approach of personal and
organisational transformation. Around 70 participants are gathered for this event. During the
seminar people from Nepal and other countries share about challenges and opportunities of
applying Social Artistry. They are discussing various issues including Social Artistry and well
being, technology transfer, faclitation etc. Altogether 20 papers will be presented during this
seminar and series of discussions will take place. In the first day, Ms. Janet Sanders, Ms. Ishu
Subba, Ms. Pramila KC, Mr. Amba Datta Bhatta, Prof. Tatwa P. Timsina, Dr. RC Lamichhane,
Mr. Blase Sands, Mr. Nava Raj Adhikari and Mr. Bal Krishna Silwal shared about their
experiences of being a Social Artist and applying it in their personal life and organisations.
